Permitting in Northwest Oregon

Tree removal often requires a permit. We have compiled some information on permitting in some of the main cities we work with. If you have questions about permitting in a different city or area, give us a call. We’ll be happy to help!

Permitting in Sherwood

When removing a tree in Sherwood, here’s what you need to know. 

  1. Any tree over 5’’ DBH (Diameter at Breast Height) requires a permit.
  2. More than 5 trees on a single property requires a permit.
  3. Any tree over 10” DBH requires an arborist report (we’ll handle this for you)
  4. Tip: Send a photo and description to planning@sherwoodoregon.gov 48 hours before any removal to prevent code compliance calls.

Permitting in Wilsonville

Here’s information on tree removal in Wilsonville:

  1. Wilsonville has multiple types of permitting for different situations. Usually, a Type A permit covers 1-3 trees on a property and a Type B covers 4+ trees.
  2. For a type B, you do need an arborist report. We’ll help with this!
